2023-07-28MIPS: Fixup explicit DT include clean-upRob Herring
Commit 657c45b303f87d77 ("MIPS: Explicitly include correct DT includes") removed a necessary include by mistake and missed adding an explicit include of spinlock.h (from of.h -> kobject.h -> spinlock.h). Fixes: 657c45b303f87d77 ("MIPS: Explicitly include correct DT includes") Reported-by: Geert Uytterhoeven <geert@linux-m68k.org> Signed-off-by: Rob Herring <robh@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Thomas Bogendoerfer <tsbogend@alpha.franken.de>
2023-07-25MIPS: Explicitly include correct DT includesRob Herring
The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate of_platform_bus_type before it was merged into the regular platform bus. As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they "temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to explicitly include the correct includes. Convert platform_get_resource(), devm_ioremap_resource() to a single call to devm_platform_get_and_ioremap_resource(), as this is exactly what this function does. Signed-off-by: Ye Xingchen <ye.xingchen@zte.com.cn> Signed-off-by: Thomas Bogendoerfer <tsbogend@alpha.franken.de>
2022-03-30MIPS: lantiq: check the return value of kzalloc()Xiaoke Wang
kzalloc() is a memory allocation function which can return NULL when some internal memory errors happen. So it is better to check the return value of it to prevent potential wrong memory access or memory leak. 2017-02-14MIPS: Audit and remove any unnecessary uses of module.hPaul Gortmaker
Historically a lot of these existed because we did not have a distinction between what was modular code and what was providing support to modules via EXPORT_SYMBOL and friends. That changed when we forked out support for the latter into the export.h file. This means we should be able to reduce the usage of module.h in code that is obj-y Makefile or bool Kconfig. In the case of some code where it is modular, we can extend that to also include files that are building basic support functionality but not related to loading or registering the final module; such files also have no need whatsoever for module.h The advantage in removing such instances is that module.h itself sources about 15 other headers; adding significantly to what we feed cpp, and it can obscure what headers we are effectively using. Since module.h might have been the implicit source for init.h (for __init) and for export.h (for EXPORT_SYMBOL) we consider each instance for the presence of either and replace/add as needed. Also note that MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE is a no-op for non-modular code. Build coverage of all the mips defconfigs revealed the module.h header was masking a couple of implicit include instances, so we add the appropriate headers there. 2013-05-18Merge branch 'devm_no_resource_check' of ↵Linus Torvalds
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/wsa/linux Pull devm usage cleanup from Wolfram Sang: "Lately, I have been experimenting how to improve the devm interface to make writing device drivers easier and less error prone while also getting rid of its subtle issues. I think it has more potential but still needs work and definately conistency, especiall in its usage. The first thing I come up with is a low hanging fruit regarding devm_ioremap_resouce(). This function already checks if the passed resource is valid and gives an error message if not. So, we can remove similar checks from the drivers and get rid of a bit of code and a number of inconsistent error strings. This series only removes the unneeded check iff devm_ioremap_resource follows platform_get_resource directly. The previous version tried to shuffle code if needed, too, what lead to an embarrasing bug. It turned out to me that shuffling code for all cases found will make the automated script too complex, so I am unsure if an automated cleanup is the proper tool for this case. Removing the easy stuff seems worthwhile to me, though. Despite various architectures and platform dependencies, I managed to compile test 45 out of 57 modified files locally using heuristics and defconfigs." 2013-01-03MIPS: drivers: remove __dev* attributes.Greg Kroah-Hartman
CONFIG_HOTPLUG is going away as an option. As a result, the __dev* markings need to be removed. This change removes the use of __devinit, __devexit_p, __devinitdata, and __devexit from these drivers.
